Google Analytics is a free web analytic tool that many people are using it to measure the performance of the online platform. Although it is a free tool, it would be very powerful if you can have great segment or advanced report.

There are many metrics we can look at in Google Analytic, but conversion rate should be the most important one. Conversion is the ultimate goal of your business, showing the customers’ lifetime value. We thus want to know like “What kinds of traffic convert?”, “Which channel needed to be focus?”, “How can we improve the lower converting channels?”

In Google Analytic, you can custom report yourself easily. In the Menu bar, Simply Click “Custom Report” and “Create New Custom Report”, then you can start to generate your customized report as follow.

As we mentioned above that conversion is a very important metric to look at, A Conversion analysis report is thus always come first in the analysis.

In the custom report, you can type in the Title, Add different tabs and drag and drop all the metrics by typing or search the metrics or dimensions you want on the left hand side menu.

Metric will be in blue color while dimension will be in green color.

Google also provide many support in custom report, such as “What are valid dimension-metric combinations in a custom report?”

After the drag and drop and entry, here is the conversion analysis report.

Of course, there are many other reports that you can generate yourself such as Organic Rankings, Landing Page Performance, Site Search Commerce, Paid Search Keyword Analysis, Customer Network Analysis, Organic Keyword Success report. Try to customize the most valuable one for your business!
